A contemporary acoustic slat panel designed to transform your home or work environment. Made with a MDF slat core and wood veneer giving that contrast to a full feature wall. Acoustic panels are fixed to a sturdy black felt backing for easy installation.

Tools and materials required

  • Construction adhesive (such as Fix-All nails or similar)
  • Screws and anchors (appropriate for your wall type)
  • Screwdriver or drill
  • Measuring tape
  • Level
  • Pencil
  • Utility knife or saw (for cutting panels to size if required)
  • Caulk gun (for adhesive)

Step-by-step Guide

1. Preparation

  • Clean the walls: Make sure the wall surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or debris. This ensures better adhesion.
  • Measure the wall: Measure the area where you plan to install the panels to determine the layout and how many panels you’ll need.
  • Mark the layout: Use a pencil and level to mark the placement of each panel on the wall. This will help you position the panels correctly.

2. Cutting panels (if required)

  • Measure and mark: Measure the panels and mark where they need to be cut.
  • Cut the panels: Use a utility knife or saw to cut the panels to the desired size. Be sure to cut on a stable surface and wear safety gear.

3. Applying adhesive

  • Load the caulk gun: Insert the construction adhesive into the caulk gun.
  • Apply a generous amount of adhesive to the back of the acoustic panel. Create a zigzag pattern or apply dots of adhesive around the edges and centre of the panel.

4. Placing the panels

  • Carefully place the panel onto the wall according to your layout marks.
  • Press the panel firmly against the wall to ensure good adhesion. Hold it in place for a minute or so to

  • Mark screw locations: Mark the locations where you will insert screws. Aim for corners and the centre of the panel.

  • Ensure the screws are tight but not so tight that they deform the panel.
